Crew Tool Math

Crew Tool Math: Jobsite Power for a Full Crew Day

Packs, chargers, lights and radio: get the watt-hours your crew needs with no power on site.

Follow the manuals. Charge batteries only on the brand's own charger, keep chargers out of rain and direct sun, and run a gas generator outdoors, away from where the crew works and breathes.

Crew Tool Math: how much power does a crew burn in a day?

A battery's watt-hours (Wh) are volts times amp-hours. An 18V (20V MAX) 5.0 Ah pack holds about 90 Wh; a 12.0 Ah pack about 216 Wh. Chargers lose roughly 15%, so a power station must hold more than the packs you refill. Put in your own crew and the calculator does the rest.

Enter your crew.

Good, better, best for a jobsite with no power

Good: about 1,000 Wh

One or two workers on a remodel or a punch list. Refills a few packs at lunch and runs a work light. Rides in the cab.

Better: 1,000 to 3,000 Wh

A two-to-four person crew on a full day. Two chargers going at once, a radio and fans, and solar panels on the truck to refill it.

Best: expandable battery plus a generator

Bigger crews or corded saws and compressors. Run the generator a few hours to refill the battery, then work quiet for the neighbors and the inspector.

Professional results: for long jobs, ask the utility and a licensed electrician about a temporary power pole. It beats hauling fuel every day.

Charge smarter, buy fewer packs

  • Rotate packs: one in the tool, one on the charger, one cooling.
  • Use rapid chargers only where the station can carry the draw (check the charger's watts on its label).
  • Engrave every pack with your company name and a number so they come back from shared sites. How we engrave packs.

BLUETTI power stations come in carry sizes for one-truck crews and expandable systems for bigger jobs, with solar input. Match the watt-hours to your Crew Tool Math number.
