When a fan changes the job
Drying after a flood
Best for: Snail air movers along the floor, a dehumidifier, windows open; pull wet baseboard first
Not for: Blowing on visible mold; that spreads spores
Drying drywall mud and paint
Best for: Low speed, moving air across the wall, between coats
Not for: High speed straight at wet mud; it cracks
Working in the sun
Best for: A 10x10 pop-up canopy over the trench, a hybrid drum fan and neck fans keep the crew productive
Not for: Replacing water and breaks; heat illness is real
Under the house
Best for: Broken pipes and stink: a battery fan pushing fresh air in, plus neck and hat lights, make a world of difference
Not for: Sewage without gloves, mask and eye protection
